Dr. Van Huffel offers treatments to help patients get the most out of their sleep. The importance of sleep cannot be underestimated, from daytime productivity to mood swings, and hunger levels, sleep can affect all areas of life. If you struggle to sleep because of breathing problems, snoring, or sleep apnea, Dr. Van Huffel offers solutions for you.
Optisleep
Sleep apnea is a disorder in which your breathing is disrupted while you sleep. With sleep apnea, you can start and stop breathing throughout the night. Unfortunately, because you are asleep when it happens, it can be hard to tell that you are suffering from this condition. If you consistently wake up feeling restless or you know that you are a loud snorer, you may need treatment for sleep apnea. Patients who use the Optisleep appliance reported being less tired during the day, having a better overall quality of sleep, and snoring less often.
Silent Night®
While snoring may be thought of as merely an annoyance, it can actually be very serious. When you are consistently snoring, your sleep cycle (and likely the cycles of those around you as well) is interrupted. When you are snoring, you are struggling to breathe. This can lead to bodily complications such as high blood pressure which can lead to other issues such as increasing your risk of having a stroke. If you are sick of waking up after a night of sleep and not feeling rested or living with someone with aggressive snoring patterns, Silent Nite® may be for you.
